IPL 2023: DC captain David Warner has sent a message to Rishabh Pant ahead of IPL 2023 to make him happy

IPL 2023: DC skipper David Warner gives a heartfelt message to Rishabh Pant: Newly appointed Delhi Capitals (DC) captain David Warner sent a heartfelt and priceless message to Rishabh Pant, which unfortunately does not apply to the upcoming IPL 2023 season. Wishing Rishabh Pant a speedy recovery, Warner also said the team is motivated to lift the IPL trophy in his absence.

Notably, Rishabh Pant met with a car accident on December 30 when he was returning to celebrate New Year 2023 with his family. The cricketer's Mercedes car hit the dividing line on the Delhi-Dehradun highway, sustaining multiple injuries. He was soon taken to hospitals for initial treatment before being admitted to Max Hospital in Dehradun.

In a statement issued by Delhi Capitals (DC), David Warner admitted that they have big shoes to fill in IPL 2023 but the team is motivated to succeed.

We make your hearts happy every season but your absence is needed to make your hearts happy this year to win the prize. We are with you guys to make you happy. We have some special messages. We hope you will come to every match. We pray for your health and prosperity.

This will be David Warner's second stint as the head of an IPL franchise. The Aussie batsman previously captained Sunrisers Hyderabad from 2015 to 2020. He also led SRH to their only IPL title win in 2016. But in 2021, the rough phase of his career saw him lose the captaincy. his place in the playing XI and Warner was eventually dropped from the SRH squad.

To everyone's surprise, Delhi Capitals (DC) picked up David Warner in the IPL 2022 Big Auctions for a steal.

All-rounder Aksar Patel has been appointed as the vice-captain of the IPL 2023 team alongside David Warner, who will lead the DC IPL 2023.

The opening batsman added, "I am honored to be named the captain of Delhi Capitals, while Aksar has been named the vice-captain. We have big shoes to fill."

Delhi Capitals (DC) will begin their IPL 2023 campaign against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 1 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.

DC squad for IPL 2023: David Warner (c), Aksar Patel (vc), Prithvi Shaw, Sarfaraz Khan, Ripal Patel, Rovman Powell, Yash Dhull, Anrich Nortje, Michell Marsh, Lalit Yadav, Chetan Sakariya, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Mustafizur Rahman, Khaleel Ahmed, Lungi Ngidi, Aman Khan, Kuldeep Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Praveen Dubey, Vicky Ostwal, Manish Pandey, Phil Salt, Mukesh Kumar, Rilee Rossouw.
