Men's Cricket IPL 2023 March-April 2023 will start a great and beautiful competition. A total of 74 wonderful and beautiful matches will be played in this competition of the T20 format. IPL season 16 also known as Tata IPL 2023 will have a total of 74 matches and all the tournament matches will be played in 12 different stadiums in India.

England cricketer Sam Curran is the most expensive player in the IPL auction held in Kochi. He was picked by Punjab Kings at a price of INR 18.50 crores.

New rule in IPL 2023

Before the start of the season, the BCCI introduced a regulation on batsmen. Unlike playing Eleven, clubs can choose four influences or substitutes for a match. And each team will have the right to substitute any player from the selected players.

IPL 2023 Venues

BCCI has selected 12 venues to host all Tata IPL 2023 matches. The name of the various stadiums is Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala, Assam Cricket Association Stadium, Guwahati Guwahati, International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, Sawai Mansingh Stadium Jaipur, Eden Gardens Kolkata, CRSABV Ekan Stadium in Lauder. Singh Bindra Stadium in Mohali and Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

IPL 2023 Broadcast Rights

The BCCI leased the TV rights for 2023-2027 in June 2022. 48,390 crore ($6.1 billion) in annual spending, making it the second richest and most profitable event in the world behind the NFL. Star Sports has extended its broadcast deal and the Viacom18 group has secured the full streaming rights. All the matches of IPL 2023 will be streamed on JioCinema while Star Network will telecast all the matches.

IPL Teams 2023

All the teams of the upcoming IPL 2023 are divided into 2 groups ie A and B and each club will face 14 group matches. Each team plays one game against teams from one group and 2 games against a team from the other group. Participating teams are listed below:

Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings will enter the IPL 2023 under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni with Stephen Fleming as the head coach. The CSK club was founded in 2008 and is owned by Cements Limited of India. In the last season of IPL, CSK reached the final but failed to win the title and finished as runners-up. Apart from having the best win rate (58.98%) among all other IPL clubs, Super Kings have claimed the league title four times in 2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021. They earned the record for the largest participation of both clubs. IPL finals ie. nine times and playoffs ie. eleven times

Capitals of Delhi

Delhi Capitals, owned by GMR Group and JSW Group, will participate in the 16th season of the IPL under Ricky Ponting as head coach. The team plays its home matches at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, which has a capacity of 55,000. In the last IPL season, Delhi Capitals finished 5th in the points table. In 2022, Delhi played a total of 14 matches where they managed to win 7 matches and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

Titans of Gujarat

Gujarat Titans, owned by CVC Capital Partners, will participate in IPL 2023 under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, while Ashish Nera will take charge as coach. Hardik Narendra Modi Stadium, Motera, Ahmedabad is where the Titans will play their home matches. Picked at a price of INR 10 crore, Lockie Ferguson is the most expensive player at the club.

Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders, owned by Red Chillies Entertainment, will participate in IPL 2023 under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, with Chandrakant Pandit as the head coach. Venky Mysore is the CEO and Managing Director of the club, while Wayne Bentley is the team manager. Abhishek Nayar and James Foster will be seen as assistant coaches.

Lucknow Super Giants

Raghu Iyer-owned Lucknow Super Giants will be a part of the Tata IPL 2023 under the captaincy of KL Rahul along with Andy Flour, the head coach. In the last IPL season, Lucknow participated in 15 matches in which they won 9 matches and lost 6 matches thus finishing in the 3rd position in the standings. BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow with a capacity of 50,000 is the home of the Super Giants.
