In their amateur draft, the first round, in 1995, he was chosen by the Toronto Blue Jays. He was a member of the Toronto Blue Jay until the end of the 2009 season, when he was replaced by the Philadelphia Phillies. In a game against Florida's "Marlins" on May 29, 2010, Halladey won the 20th perfect game in MLB history. Due to the very successful 2010 season, he was the winner of the 2011 John Vanamaker Athletics Award at the Philadelphia Sports Congress.
