The Indian cricketer who will play for Rajasthan Royals (RR) off-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal became the first bowler to take 200 wickets in IPL history. He achieved this feat by dismissing an Afghan cricketer to play against Mumbai Indians Mohammad Nabi in a match against Mumbai Indians (MI) in Jaipur. Dwayne Bravo is second with 183 IPL wickets.

Before that, only two bowlers had taken more than 200 wickets in any T20 tournament. That is, Danny Briggs (219) and Samit Patel (208) did it in England's domestic T20 tournament in the Vitality Blast.
