Virat Kohli was punished for dissent after the dismissal.

Virat Kohli has been fined 50% of his match fee for violating the IPL code of conduct during Royal Challengers Bangalore's match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on April 21 (Sunday).

Kohli was booked for his anger at the match umpire for expressing displeasure at his dismissal during RCB's chase. Harshit Rana caught him and hit him with a full toss that looked like a waist-length nine ball. Based on ball-tracking technology that also takes players' height into account this season, the third umpire felt that if Kohli had bowled from the crease, the ball would have gone below the waist.

According to ICC Rule 41.7. rules, any delivery that crosses or exceeds the waist height of the batsman, standing straight at the crease, without overswing, will be considered unfair, even if it results in a loss. May or may not deliver. Bodily injuries to the attacker. If the bowler hits such a ball, the umpire must immediately call and signal that the ball is out of bounds.

So the third umpire upheld the on-field decision to anger Kohli. On his way out, the RCB opener expressed his displeasure with the umpire.
