The ICC Women's T20 World Cup was originally scheduled to be held in 2022, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the International Cricket Council (ICC) in November 2020 confirmed that the tournament was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ICC announced that the 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup matches will be hosted at 3 venues in three cities. Venues were held at Newlands Cricket Ground, St George's Park Cricket Ground, and Boland Park.
